As the largest rural (“bush”) community in Alaska, Bethel serves as a gateway to the expansive Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. The Y-K Delta is rich in natural beauty and home to dozens of Yupik Native Alaskan communities, many species of wildlife, and the spectacular Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge.
